CAFRE of the University of Pisa

CAFRE of the University of Pisa is the Centre in charge of research and training in the educational field. It is a public institution, located in Pisa (Tuscany Region-Italy). Among CAFRE activities are the organization and the management of theTuscany teacher training school – SSIS, which is organized in different courses given at the Universities of Florence, Pisa and Siene. There are about 1200 teacher training students in Tuscany; approx. 150 of them are being trained to become lower secondary school mathematics teachers. As for the expertise, CAFRE members are University of Pisa researchers active in different subjects and have experience in European transnational co-operation projects at any level. The proposed project co-ordinator is co-ordinating national and international projects, including a SOCRATES project. He is also a member of the Working Group on MST appointed to carry out the European Commission Education Council’s objective 1.4 “Increasing the recruitment to scientific and technical studies”.
